Request an Event
This is where you’ll spend most of your time when you need a new event on the calendar, and a room reserved for the event. If you read and follow along, this form will be infintiely less intimidating than at first glance. We’ll walk you through all the different fields/inputs and explain what each does, which ones you can skip, etc.
How-To Basic
Requesting a new event couldn’t be easier.
Step One
First, you’ll need to be logged in. Once you are, you have a few options for getting to the ‘Request New Event’ page.
To get to the ’Request New Event’ page you can:
- Go to the Parish Calendar, find the date and time you want your event, and then double click on an empty square on the calendar interface.
- Or, Click the Request New Event square on the dashboard.
- Or, Click the Calendar button at the top of the page, and then click ’Request New Event.’
Step Two
Second, you’ll need to fill out the event details. The bare minimum required details to successfully request an event are listed below. (Required Details) In Addition to the title, date, start and end times, you’ll also need to select a room and which ministry the event belongs to.

Requesting Events with the Event Wizard
CatholicOffice features a step-by-step Event Request Wizard (/calendar/wizard-request) to simplify submitting event and room requests.
Using the Wizard:
- Navigate to Calendar > Request New Event (or click
/calendar/wizard-request). - Step 1: Event Details: Enter the title, ministry, public description, and expected attendance.
- Step 2: Dates & Times: Select single date or multiple dates, start time, end time, and setup/cleanup buffer times.
- Step 3: Room & Facility Selection: Search and select available parish rooms, halls, or chapels. The system prevents double-booking in real time.
- Step 4: Review & Submit: Review summary details and click Submit Request.
Recurring & Long-Term Requests
For weekly Bible studies, monthly council meetings, or seasonal rehearsals:
- Click Request Recurring Event (
/calendar/request/recurring). - Set recurrence pattern:
- Frequency: Daily, Weekly, Bi-Weekly, Monthly (e.g., 1st Tuesday of the month).
- End Date / Repetition Count: Specify the semester or annual end date.
- Select rooms and submit. The system will generate all instances and check for room conflicts across the entire series.
What Happens After Submission?
- Your request is stored safely in the database in Pending status.
- The designated Ministry Leader and Parish Calendar Administrator are automatically notified.
- You will receive an automated email notification once your request has been reviewed and approved.
