Mass Intentions & Stipends

The Mass Intentions module (/mass-intentions) manages Mass intention requests, donor offerings, canon law compliance limits, and publishing reports for parish bulletins.

Accessing Mass Intentions

  • Navigate to Liturgy (or Admin) > Mass Intentions (/mass-intentions).
  • Toggle between List View and Calendar View to see booked and available Mass dates.

Booking a Mass Intention

  1. Click + Book Mass Intention (or click on an open Mass in the calendar view).
  2. Complete the intention details:
    • Mass Date & Time: Choose from the available Mass schedule.
    • Intended For: Name of the individual or family.
    • Status: Indicate whether the person is Deceased (†) or Living (Special Intention / Healing / Thanksgiving).
    • Offered By / Donor: Name and contact details of the requester.
    • Stipend Offering: Standard diocesan Mass offering amount (e.g., $10 / $15) or custom amount.

Mass Intention Capacity & Limits

To follow Canon Law and diocesan guidelines regarding collective intentions:

  • The system automatically enforces intention caps per Mass (e.g., maximum 1 intention per Mass, or allowed multi-intention days).
  • Alerts staff if a donor exceeds parish frequency limits for a single person within a year.

Bulletin & Sacristy Reports

  • Bulletin Export: Generate formatted lists of upcoming Mass intentions for inclusion in weekly church bulletins.
  • Sacristy Binder Export: Print daily and weekly lists of intentions with celebrant names for the altar and ambo binders.

Configuring Mass Intention Settings

Parish administrators can customize policies at:

  • Settings > Mass Intentions (/settings/mass-intentions).
  • Set default stipend amounts, booking window opening dates (e.g., opening the annual Mass book on Nov 1), and intention caps per individual.
